Below you can read what the conference was all about!
The vast majority of physical goods traded worldwide travels by ship. To medium to long term roadmap of any transport and logistic industry will require a technology and fuel switch for meeting sustainability targets. The maritime industry is focusing its efforts towards adopting Hydrogen based fuels and Fuel Cells. The same approach has been adopted by several other industries. To foster this massive fuel/technology switch, and make it economically feasible, a huge Innovation, Research and Development effort is still needed. Europe is at the forefront of the forthcoming Hydrogen revolution thanks to several research projects funded by the European Commission and to several initiatives launched by private industries. Both public institutions and companies cooperated to create a friendly environment for undertaking long term research and innovation activities. The Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking is the best example of such cooperation. During the event, we will host a keynote speech on the future Hydrogen Economy and the role of maritime in such future ecosystem, and we will ask some selected stakeholders to give their point of view on the best way forward.
