ANIONE results presented by CNRS at ISIEM 2023 | June 2023

Rossana Gentile, researcher and PhD student at CNRS – University of Montpellier, presented ANIONE results during the International Symposium on Inorganic and Environmental Materials (ISIEM 2023) which took place in Montpellier, France, between 19 – 23 June 2023.

During the presentation, Rossana shared the results of her research, which focused on the development of a composite anion exchange membrane reinforced with a 3D polymer fiber web using the ionomer provided by Hydrolite company. The membrane properties were evaluated, including hydroxide conductivity, dimensional changes in water and KOH solutions, mechanical properties, and hydrogen crossover. These properties were then systematically compared to the properties of the non-reinforced membrane prepared using the same ionomer and with the same thickness.

The incorporation of a 3D nanofiber web reinforcement within the membrane enhanced its performance, enabling the production of thinner reinforced membranes with high conductivity, reduced hydrogen crossover, and improved mechanical properties.
